Level 3 Carpentry students from the GCA Trades Academy took on a hands-on project as part of their curriculum while concurrently giving back to the island. The class, led by instructor Sixto Quintanilla, renovated two offices at Simon Sanchez High School through an effort spearheaded by NAWIC Guam (National Association of Women in Construction).
GCA and the GCA Trades Academy awarded Victoria Sandlin its first ever scholarships to a high school student. The scholarship recipients will be enrolled in the GCA Trades Academy’s CORE curriculum beginning in January 2012. The value of each scholarship is $2,500, which includes tuition, books and lab fees at the GCA Trades Academy. Victoria is a student from Okkodo High School.
